Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We're keeping things classy and comfortable. For Saturday, wear something weather-appropriate with shoes that will do okay in grass and unpaved surfaces. The reception area is flat and covered, but the ceremony and cocktail hour will be in the yard in shady areas. The ceremony and reception will be entirely outdoors so keep an eye on the forecast! For the Friday Welcome Party, think "nice casual".

Question

When should I arrive?

Answer

The ceremony will begin at 3:30pm on Saturday September 2nd, so please plan to arrive by 3:15pm.

Question

When does the reception end?

Answer

The reception will end at 10:15pm. All guests must be off the property by 11pm.

Question

What are the transport options to and from the wedding venue?

Answer

There will be shuttle buses available from downtown Chapel Hill to Windy Hill Farm and back. If you plan to use the shuttle on the front-end, please meet at the front of the AC Hotel (214 W Rosemary St, Chapel Hill, NC 27516) by no later than 2:10pm. The shuttles will leave by 2:30pm. The buses will leave from Windy Hill Farm between 10-10:30pm and will drop off at at the pickup location. The trip will take about 30-40 minutes. We recommend using the shuttles if you plan to be at the entire ceremony and reception. Uber/Lyft should work for getting to the venue, but availability will be limited for returning from the venue. For those who do not wish to use the shuttle for the return trip and do not have a car, we can provide taxi service recommendations. Yellow Diamond taxi company looks to be a good option (919-729-5040, https://yellowdiamondrdutaxi.com/) Parking is available at the venue. You are able to leave your car parked overnight but it must be picked up by 11am on Sunday.

Question

What is the weather like?

Answer

This time of year, NC is warm and humid. The entire ceremony and reception is outdoors (reception will be covered), so make sure to wear something breathable and comfortable, and check the weather for possible rain. If rain is expected, the ceremony will be moved to a covered area.

Question

What type of food will be served at the reception?

Answer

Hors d'oeuvres will be served during the cocktail hour at 4pm after the ceremony and dinner (5:30pm) during the reception will be served buffet-style. Dinner will include vegetarian, meat, gluten free, and dairy free options.

Question

Will drinks be served?

Answer

Wine, beer, and other non-liquor adult beverages will be served along with non-alcoholic drinks. Feel free to bring cash for tipping the bartender, but otherwise no cash needed. We will also have iced coffee to keep the party going!

Question

What will the post-wedding hangout entail?

Answer

This will be an opportunity for us to relax and hang out before everyone heads home. Expect casual food, games, and non-alcoholic drinks. The event will take place at the picnic shelter at Hargraves Community Center just a few blocks from Franklin St. The event will be outdoors but the picnic shelter is covered.

Question

Do you have a wedding gift registry?

Answer

We do have a registry through Zola if you're interested- just visit the Registry tab on this website!

Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

The couple will be staying at the AC Hotel in downtown Chapel Hill. We have a limited block rate for this hotel, as well as two courtesy blocks at other hotels. Feel free to stay at any of these hotels or another hotel/Airbnb of your choosing. Check out the Travel page for more info!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your kids, but this is an adults-only party!
