In August of 2018, God placed us both in Los Angeles, California at our church's annual Global Leadership Conference. In a hall of over one thousand people, we unknowingly sat beside each other in the least crowded area of the conference. Just out of sheer friendliness we struck up a conversation that turned into a long distance friendship for over a year.
After one year of building a friendship through video calls and text messages, in spite of being an eight-hour time difference away, Isaac and Stephanie’s friendship flourished. Stephanie took a leap of faith to pursue her Master's degree in London and relocated in August of 2019. Two short months later, On September 7, 2019, Isaac asked Stephanie to be his girlfriend. A moment in which he proudly confessed that all he wanted in a partner was a TRUE FRIEND.
Shortly after the birth of Isaac and Stephanie's dating relationship, a long-time vision God placed on both of their hearts began to take shape. Their love for photography, creativity, and the arts was being molded into what is now a registered Community Interest Company in London called 'Gentle Us.' Through Gentle, Isaac and Stephanie have connected with many people, new friends and new spiritual families from all walks of life. The vision for Gentle Us was inspired by the scripture in 1 Thessalonians 2:7, "being gentle among you, like a nursing mother taking care of her own children." Their vision is to build up communities, families, businesses and young people through creative and visual arts keeping this scripture at the heart of everything they do.
On the night of March 27, 2021, Isaac asked Stephanie to dinner with friends but on their way they took an evening stroll by the River Thames. Whilst walking along the river the two came upon a beautifully lit gazebo, candles and rose petals all planned by Isaac. Stephanie was full of shock and surprise to see the large group of close friends emerge to surround the couple. In those same moments Isaac expressed his love and got down on one knee, asking Stephanie to do him the honour by MARRYING HIM! Through their two year friendship Isaac and Stephanie pursued their walks with God, friendship, relationships with others, their education, and purity. The two are now excited to spend the rest of their lives with one another by bringing their families and friends along with them on their life journey.
