The chairlift is the way to the venue for your guests. It is also the safest and smoothest way to the venue. In the summer, we have 4WD only access to the venue for your vendors. If any of your guests cannot physically, mentally, or cognitively take the chairlift, we will accommodate by driving them to and from the venue. We can take up to 7 people. Anyone driving on our 4WD service road will need to sign a road agreement beforehand.
No. Black Mountain Lodge, as well as all buildings at Arapahoe Basin including the Hide-A-Way and 6th Alley, has an on-premise liquor license which means only alcohol purchased at Arapahoe Basin can be consumed on site. All alcohol has to come through a distributor that is set up as a vendor with A-Basin.
The venue sits at 11,500ft above sea level. It is helpful to warn your guests about drinking at elevation and to stay hydrated the days leading up to your event.
We have two ski patrol employees on-site at for every wedding. If someone drinks too much, patrol will make the call if they need to be driven down. If someone feels sick, they can be checked out by ski patrol. It is important to note: patrol is not there to/will not hand out pain relief medication for headaches.
