This is our absolute favorite restaurant in Athens, our go-to celebration place. Pro Tip: Ask for the secret sushi menu.
Trappeze Pub
If you're looking for good cocktails, unique beers, and creative American recipes, Trappeze is the place. We recommend the fries with garlic aioli and the raspberry ketchup.
Taqueria Del Sol
If you're in a pinch for time but still want to try a local Athens restaurant, try Taqueria Del Sol. Their service is super fast but their tacos and plates are amazing! Steph gets the fish tacos with the corn and shrimp chowder. Zac gets their rotating blue plate.
Big City Bread Cafe
Our favorite brunch location! If you get into town early and have some time, we recommend getting either their biscuit sandwich or their BLT and then hit Creature Comforts (walking distance) for a local brew!
Creature Comforts Downtown Taproom and Brewery
One of our favorite breweries in Athens! Fun fact: Thor drinks Creature Comforts Tropicalia and Athena in Avengers: Endgame. You can only get Thor's beer here in Georgia!
Blue Sky Bar
One of the best "grad-student" bars in the area, looking right over North Campus. Try their Blueberry Buck! **You must do stairs to go to this bar.
Bar South
For our friends and family who are looking to experience what going out in Downtown Athens is like for UGA students, Bar South will give you what you are looking for. Bar South has pool tables, shuffle board, and loud music.
UGA Arch
The famous UGA Arch is just a few minutes walking from the hotels! Tradition states that until you have graduated, you cannot pass under the arch, otherwise you will have bad luck in your academic pursuits. Take a stroll to the arches and see for yourself how superstitious Athens can be.
Sanford Stadium
You are in the home of the 2x National Champions of college football. Go see where the Bulldogs play between the hedges in the heart of campus. Across the street, you'll find the two-story school store. Make sure to enjoy the walk through historic North Campus along the way. GO DAWGS.
