Dear Friends & Family, We hope everyone is staying healthy & safe during these troubling times. For precautionary reasons, we have decided to cancel the ceremony & reception at the Worcester Art Museum on May 23rd. Instead, we are hoping to have a small ceremony on May 23rd at our home, and a later summer celebration with all that can still attend. We are also hoping to live broadcast the ceremony so that everyone can enjoy us tying the knot remotely! We will share details as soon as they are available. We know that with strength & love we will all make it through this global health crisis together. Much love & prayers to all, Tom & Steph
July 26, 2016- Tom left a family camping trip early at White Lake, NH & Steph traveled west from Cape Cod to join friends & former classmates at Wachusett HS's 25th reunion, held at the newly renovated Union Station in Worcester, MA. It was a hot & steamy night, the reunion was outside on the west side of Union Station & ice was melting in the glass faster than one could finish a drink. Tom was catching up with Marlo (Markarian) Richard & blinded by sweat, he looked up & saw Stephanie approaching with the sun blazing high above her head like a halo, and was instantly smitten. The evening continued with more reminiscing & fun memories at the Dive Bar on Green Street. Picking up the conversation the next day, Tom learned that Steph was traveling to the UK for business & then on to Finland to visit family along with her Mom. Cute texts awkwardly translated to Finnish by Google followed for the next 10 days, as excitement crescendoed in anticipation of their next meeting. Steph agreed to brave another hot night in Worcester & escort Tom to Courtney Champlin's surprise 30th BDay party at Maxwell SIlverman's. Tom was duly impressed with Steph's dance moves, especially a dance off with a Mick Jagger look-alike on a dare from Bob Champlin. Realizing the magic was real, they never looked back as they made life plans together, moving into a beautiful home in Sturbridge together the following April. Two years later, their family grew when a 6 yr-old Lab-Pyrenees mix, Katie, was generously shared with them by Aunt Phyllis (Champlin) Tapley. Katie brings even more joy to their life demanding daily walks around Walker Pond & offering hilarious sleeping poses on any piece of furniture she chooses each night. Tom's marriage proposal to Stephanie came before their 2nd Zac Brown concert together last September when he conjured up a ring and a prophetic request for her hand in marriage. Steph paused for a dramatic moment before saying, "YES!!!"
