How we met (The Brides Perspective): Terrance and I met on Tinder. We swiped right. :) Terrance immediately stood out from the rest because he took time to write about himself on his profile and he made sure to mention he was looking for something serious. His ultimate goal was to find a wife and start a family. Once we matched, Terrance reached out and I still remember his first question to me: “what’s your favorite food”. We continued to talk via text and by phone for about a week. Terrance kept asking me to meet but I was hesitant (there are a lot of crazy people out there). He understood and let me decide when we would meet. When we finally planned our first date he asked if he could pick me up. At 32 years old, I had never allowed a guy to pick me up on a first date but something felt different. Little did we know, after that first date we would be inseparable.
Terrance proposed on my birthday trip to New Orleans. He actually proposed the day after my birthday which made it more of a surprise. I was sure he was going to do it on my actual birthday and when he didn’t, I assumed it would happen around the holidays. He waited until all of my friends arrived in New Orleans. That is when my friend Natalie said we needed to walk to this hotel to meet “her friend”. When we walked into the Hotel Monteleone I was totally confused but I looked at Terrance, saw the box in his hand and knew exactly what was happening. Let the ugly cry commence. It really is a blur, I just remember Terrance asking me if “that was a yes”. Through the tears, I was able to say YES! It was perfect.
