Steve and I met at Progressive Field. It must have been fate because that was my day off. I worked in the Premium Seating Department at the time. I got a phone call from my boss and she asked me if I wanted to pick the shift up. Clearly I said yes! I was directed to work the Club Section (which is awesome because I got to be outside and watch the game). It rained that morning but by the time the game started it was sunny and hot! At the bottom of the first inning, the teams switched sides and while they are doing that, the ushers walk down the stairs to face the crowd to make sure no one is dying or doing anything crazy. There was a group of men sitting to my left. Out of nowhere, this guy (Uncle Tony) started to make fun of me because I still had my hat and jacket on and it was sunny and hot (mind you, it rained earlier and now my hair is frizzy). So we laughed and joked back and forth until the teams were set to start the bottom inning. I walked back up the stairs and when I got to the top and turned around, I saw the love of my life walking up the stairs behind me. I almost fell out because he was breath taking. His smile made my heart stop. We talked for a little while and he finally asked me for my number (all the while I'm doing back flips and freaking out on the inside). He went back down the stairs to his seat and I walked over to my friend and said "I just met my Husband!" Steve texted me the next morning and we haven't stopped talking since.
It was the day of our extra late (2 years late..lol) housewarming party. Steve told me that he had to go into work for a few hours. I stayed home to make sure the house was cleaned for the party and relaxed a little until he came home. All of a sudden, I get a phone call and it was Steve telling me his truck broke down and he needed me to come pick him up. Which is normal since his truck did that all the time. So I just threw on some basketball shorts and a shirt since I was not getting out of the car. He called me back to tell me that some of the guys I used to work with wanted to say hi since we haven't seen each other since my brother-in-laws wedding two years ago. So now I have to change my clothes since I have to get out of the car. If you know me, then you already know I changed like 4 times! Steve dropped his location and I was on my way. I get down there and I pull behind his truck sitting in the zone. I get out the car and go hug and kiss Steve. I still don't see the crew anywhere. Steve then says to me, "It's crazy that my truck breaks down where we met 7 years ago" (our anniversary was July 8th). I looked up and we're at Progressive Field. We then hugged and kissed he then takes a step back and gets down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. Of course I said YESSSSS!!!!!!!!!!! See you in Mexico!
