Stephanie and Stefano matched on a dating app early in 2020. With busy travel schedules, they kept in touch for a few weeks. Finally in February, Stefano asked Stephanie to dinner in Miami. A shared love of food, family and travel bonded the two.

Shortly into their courtship, the world locked down with COVID-19. Thinking it would be only a few weeks, Stephanie asked Stefano to come stay with her. It would be fun! They could play house! While their families found it very unconventional, this time together allowed Stephanie and Stefano to get to know each other. A few weeks turned into years!

Stephanie and Stefano planned a few nights in Montauk before attending a wedding. Earlier in the day, a very upset Stephanie asked Stefano if he would ever marry her. Little did she know he had a plan. Stefano took Stephanie to the Montauk Lighthouse to watch the sunset and walk on the beach. The two have a tradition of collecting seashells from beaches they visit. Stefano pointed out a shell with a ring on it and asked Stephanie to marry him!
