Do we have to stay at the RIU Palace Baja California Resort?

Answer

Yes, as part of the wedding package the resort requires that the wedding guests stay at the resort.

Which dates should I book the resort for?

Answer

You will want to arrive at the resort by 4/24 at the latest so that you are already settled in before the wedding date. Ideally, you will want to arrive on 4/23 so that you can have a day to enjoy the resort prior to the wedding day. Ultimately, you can give yourself as many days before and/or after the wedding as you like! The bride and groom will be at the resort 4/22-4/28.

What's the deadline for booking my hotel room?

IMPORTANT: Please make sure to book your hotel early!! There is no guaranteed availability; securing a spot before the end of the year will ensure that you can reserve a room. The hotel will start getting to capacity after January. To guarantee a spot, please book your room by year end 12/31/2025. The hotel is likely to sell out if not booked by the end of January.

When should I RSVP by?

We kindly as that you please complete your RSVP by January 11, 2026. This will enable us to provide a final guest list count to our wedding planner at the resort.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

The ceremony begins at 4:00 pm. Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early to ensure that everyone is seated and the processions can start on time.

Where will the ceremony and reception take place?

Answer

The location of the ceremony is just outside the southwest corner of the resort approaching El Medano beach. Guests will walk to the ceremony site from the resort. The cocktail hour and reception will follow at the Sunset Terrace of the resort.

How do I get to the resort from the airport?

Answer

To get from Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) to the Riu Palace Baja California Resort, travelers have several reliable options. The most convenient is a pre-booked private transfer, which costs around $85–$90 USD per vehicle (up to 4 passengers). SJD Taxi, MyTransfers, Cabo Drivers, and SJD Transfers all offer these direct private options with flight tracking and luggage assistance. They’re faster and more comfortable than shared options, especially for couples or small groups arriving separately. Official airport taxis are also available without advance booking. They operate on a fixed fare system, costing about $94 USD per vehicle to Cabo San Lucas, including tolls. You can arrange one at the taxi booths inside the terminal after exiting customs. While they’re slightly more expensive than private transfers, they’re licensed and regulated, making them a dependable choice. Shared shuttles are the most budget-friendly at $25 USD per person, but they may involve longer wait times and multiple stops. Uber and other rideshare services are not permitted for pickup at the airport due to local regulations, so they’re only useful for travel once you’re in town. For the best experience, especially after a long flight, pre-booking a private transfer is highly recommended.
