No, if you're traveling from the U.S., Canada, the UK, or the EU, you do not need a visa for stays up to 90 days. Just make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates. I recommend checking the expiration date as soon as possible in case you need to renew it.
You’ll want to fly into José María Córdova International Airport (MDE), which is the main international airport serving Medellín. It’s about a 30–45 minute drive from the city center.
We have several contacts to be able to pre-order a private car. It's about $30 each way. Please let me know and I can send the number or name of the agency that can help you book.
Medellín has grown into a vibrant and much safer city over the past decade. Like any international city, exercise caution with valuables and avoid unfamiliar areas late at night.
Medellín is spring-like year-round, with temps around 75–82°F (24–28°C). There may be brief rain showers, so pack a light rain jacket or umbrella just in case.
Not necessarily! In tourist areas, you’ll find some English speakers, especially in hotels and restaurants. That said, a few Spanish phrases (or a translation app) can be really helpful and appreciated.
Yes, Medellín’s tap water is safe to drink — it’s among the best in Latin America. Still, bottled water is widely available so I would stick to bottled water if possible!
Colombia uses the Colombian Peso (COP). Credit/debit cards are widely accepted in all Medellín, but it’s good to have some cash on hand for taxis and small purchases but not necessary. Current exchange: approx 1 USD to $4,000 COP. To give you an idea $1.50 will buy you a bottle of water.
Please make sure to RSVP the children as well when you RSVP on the website. The children will have a separate menu. We will have 2 options available and pre-order that before the event.
Absolutely! Let us know in your RSVP form if you have any allergies or dietary needs, and we’ll make sure the caterers are informed. We can inform the chef so please let us know when you RSVP.
We’ll miss you, but please don't worry! We understand time, travel and other factors can play a part. We will not be upset and love you always either way! Please RSVP as soon as you can so we can finalize our plans.
Everyone is invited to the ceremony and the reception. However the rehearsal dinner is only for immediate family and the wedding party and their + 1s.
Medellín is known as the “City of Eternal Spring” — so pack for warm days and slightly cooler evenings. For a reference think of San Diego weather (warm in the midday and chilly at night) + occasional rain. Event dress codes will be on the [Schedule] page, but think: Welcome Party: Cocktail or Formal Attire Wedding: Formal Attire
The church and reception are both indoors. The cocktail hour is outside on the deck of the venue.
Rehearsal dinner: Food and drinks will be served Morning of the wedding: Light snacks and beverages will be served Cocktail hour at 3 PM: Appetizers, beverages and open bar will start Dinner at 6:00 pm: Formal dinner served Desserts will be served through the party! Night snack! Will be served around 9 PM Before the end of the night we will have a final traditional Colombian soup served. All to say plenty of food will be served throughout the whole experience so come hungry!
