He accidentally planned our engagement on our one year. It ended up being the perfect cover. He told me to wear something nice because we were going to dinner. When I showed up at his house, he made up a story about how he scheduled a reservation at a nice restaurant in Dallas, but the restaurant called him that morning and double booked. He told me not to worry because he had a plan B. Now let me tell you something, I didn't believe that a nice Dallas restaurant double booked on a Monday; honestly, I thought he had forgotten to plan something but I was so thankful that we weren't driving to Dallas that I didn't fight it. We got close to where we went for our first date and he asked me if I knew what we were doing. I knew we were going to Press Cafe and got excited because I thought it was so cute that we were re-creating our first date on our one year! As we were walking (after I tripped becuase I was wearing heels on gravel) to Press Cafe, I saw cards hanging. I thought "Oh my gosh someone is getting enga..." and I knew in that moment it was me. I looked up at him and grabbed his arm. He had our songs playing and walked me over to the cards. He had every single card that I had ever written to him hanging up. He began to tell me how much all of the cards meant to him and how he had a card for me that would hopefully mean just as much. I was frozen. He moved me over to his favorite poncho that we took on every picnic date. There he positioned me, asked for my hand, and read me the most beautiful note. I didn't remember it at the time but he gave it to me after. It was perfect. He got down on one knee, opened the ring box, and asked, "will you marry me?". It was the nicest ring I had ever seen. I said, "Oh $h!t" and then screamed YES! We got so excited we started jumping up and down and screaming. We didn't even put the ring on. While that was happening all of our best friends were across the river at the restaurant watching and screamed for us. It was perfect!
