Stephanie and Olu met in High School in 2002. He was a football and basketball player, and she was a track runner, and cheerleader, and held multiple leadership roles. They knew of each other but had their first class together in 2006 senior year. Stephanie sat in front of Olu in Health Professions class, although Olu wasn’t checking for her 😛😂. One day in class, after a track meet the day before, Stephanie wanted to take a nap in class (yes, you read that right), so she turned around and asked him to take notes for me so she could sleep. Olu kindly agreed to do so and when Stephanie woke up at the end of class, he had her notes ready for her. That is when Olu had Stephanie's attention! In that small act of service 16 years ago, Olu showed Stephanie 3 things she then didn’t know she would later want and need in a partner: Care, Support, and Selflessness. In summer 2006, between HS and college, Olu took Stephanie on their first ever date! In 2008-2009 they dated and after a few months, they went their separate ways. After that breakup, they truly lost touch & contact for 10 years! In 2019, Olu posted on FB (they were FB friends), that he was back in Boston and completed his studies. Stephanie vividly remembered him talking about his career goals in HS so, she messaged him to say truly & solely congratulations and that she was proud of him for achieving his goal. Well, he thanked her and suggested that they catch up, so in August 2019, they had their second first date again. Stephanie remembers telling her HS friends who know both of them and they specifically said “he is going to be your husband, girl! He is not going to let you slip out of his hands again, he is not playing with you.” 😂. So Stephanie did what she knows best, she prayed. God provided clarity and well, they’ve been inseparable ever since! On January 9, 2022, Olu surprised Stephanie in front of their friends and family to ask her to be his wife and forever love... and SHE SAID YES, OF COURSE! It has been a beautiful journey & roller coaster. They experienced their fair share of love, disagreements, challenges, tears, loss, growth, adventures, and more. They couldn’t be happier to be preparing for this marital journey and are honored to have you all witness it! Keep "The New Buraimohs” developing story in prayer!
