Most relationships start with "love at first sight" however, Nick and I met during the COVID pandemic. Everything/ everyone was on lock down during that time, staying in touch with your friends and family was basically online and through phone calls. Nick and I had a lot of mutual on-line friends however, we did not know one another. Nick reached out to me through Facebook with casual conversations etc...I had recently purchased property in Baker County. I was doing numerous home renovations during that time and didn't have time to date. Nick was very persistent in wanting to take me on a date. With the world being "shut down" (restaurants, movie theaters, bowling alleys all closed...) Nick was insistent he would provide me with the best date of my life, even though we couldn't go out anywhere. After many conversations, making sure he wasn't a psychopath (haha), I finally gave in and gave Nick my home address. I called my best friend, Tailor and told her about my upcoming date, "If you don't hear from me, call 911!" Tailor laughed and was on standby the whole night. I waited and paced back and forth at my house, excited and nervous to meet this witty man. Nick was aware my house was under major renovations, no kitchen, no floors, broken down walls etc... Then, I see him! As he drives up my dirt road, I am anticipating flowers from my new lover boy. This Hercules, gets out of the car, and grabs a huge box from inside his vehicle, carrying it with one hand on his shoulder. My thoughts were "what is he doing, is he going to stuff me in the box?" (just kidding) Lo and behold its a beautiful grill! He also had two huge ribeye steaks and 1lb potatoes (with all the fixings)! Nick quickly whipped out his tools, put this huge grill together and became my personal chef for the evening! I guess the way to a woman's heart is through her stomach too! We laughed and joked all night, getting to know one another. After dinner, we walked the property and gazed upon the stars, having our first romantic kiss. Not much has changed since then, he is still my Hercules, personal chef and in house comedian. We are incredibly lucky to have found one another and can't wait to say, "I DO."
