It was the fall of 2016 when we were matched. (Oct 6) Yup, online! Stephanie in Minneapolis and Nate in Starbuck, MN. We ate Scottish eggs and a beet salad for lunch when we met for the first time Sunday, Oct 9th! So random, we still laugh about it! “You weren’t lying when you said you were tall,” ;) We both knew the date was not over, so Dunn Bros was next. Nate thought he would "switch it up", so he ordered a large black coffee. (What's the norm?) I got my usual, an Americano. The time together lasted all afternoon and into the evening! We so enjoyed each other's company right from the start! The stories shared were heartfelt and have connected us! Time stood still that day! Our Sunday dates became a norm! With the miles between and the weakening health of his mother, our dates were Sundays. Location nearer to his home than mine. See, his mom was struggling with cancer and her health was decreasing rapidly. He made a move to help care for her there. It was on date two that he told me he would like me to meet her sooner than later! She was on home hospice at this time. I got to meet her the next week, on the third Sunday when i went to his home town. It was sweet. Bittersweet. The following week, yet another Sunday, her loved ones surrounded her bed when she took her last breath. We were together that day. I felt strong, he was broken. Yet there was peace. We have not left each other’s side since. Nate made a move to the cities the following September, he started a new job and miles between us decreased! We could see each other during the week! Our adventures have continued, and we couldn’t be more excited for the future together! We can’t explain it any other way, it is not a coincidence that we met when we did! Our paths crossed, as crazy as it is, through online dating. God totally knew and we give Him all the credit! It will be just shy of two years knowing eachother by the time we get married. It seems like we’ve known each other so much longer!
