A series of events (house she was renting was sold, was building a tiny house, was laid off at her job, her best friend worked at Nike in Memphis got her an interview) led Stephanie to Memphis. Michael, as most of you know, was already there. New city, new start, Stephanie decided to put herself in the dating scene and what more effective way than dating apps? Yup, they met on Tinder. After three very brief exchanges, Stephanie asked Michael to join a group of people she was going to be out and about with so they might meet in person. Stephanie arrived on time. While waiting the ten minutes or so it took for Michael, she got bumped into. Her phone was thrown from her hand to the ground and her drink was spilt on top of her phone. She immediately took apart her phone and began drying the insides... only to realize, her date now had no way to reach her. Looking around, she saw Michael, presuming this was her date, she walked up to him and introduced herself. For all she knows, he was not even the same guy from the dating app, but he was cute and played along so it must have been meant to be. They have been navigating many of lives bumps and detours ever since. Michael and Stephanie keep finding themselves together and on the same path, picturing forever and talking about tomorrow.
On their one year anniversary, Micheal and Stephanie enjoyed a wonderful weekend anniversary celebration. FRIDAY: They met friends at Italian Fest, took the children (N&Z) to Baskin Robbins for 31 Flavors on the 31st. SATURDAY: They went to their drum lessons then met with a local tattoo artist and got matching couples tattoos. Then they went to see a movie and came home for the evening. SUNDAY(The Actual Anniversary): Michael, Stephanie, N & Z went to Shelby Farms for some horseback riding and paddle boating. Then they drove a secluded lake where they shared a picnic dinner. After this dinner, Michael got close to Stephanie, pulled out a small wooden box and told her he wanted to give her what was inside but first she had to say whether or not, when the time comes, she will give him her hand in marriage. Stephanie and Michael were surrounded with N&Z cheering and clapping. Stephanie asked N&Z if they were okay with her saying 'yes.' (They were gonna be a hard sell, obviously, with all the cheering and clapping.) N said "yes." Z responded that she would agree as long as Mike got her: a piggy, a hedgehog, and a Remy (Mike's dog). Stephanie turned to Mike and said, "yes," before anymore pets could be added to her dowry. They called and message family (Stephanie's older children and mother) and then went to Michael's parents house and shared the good news with them and the dogs. Tiptoes was very excited. Remy was less impressed but seemed to approve nonetheless.
