Steph: On October 18, 2020, my friend Kelsey and I decided to visit a local church called Crosspoint. I heard great things about the church and the service lived up to it! Worship was impactful and the sermon gave us both encouragement. As we proceeded to leave, we were approached by Mason and his friend Fran. Kelsey and I hoped for more connections and their friendliness was exactly what we anticipated. Fran invited us to their small group that following Tuesday and we exchanged numbers. Mason: I witnessed the most beautiful woman I had ever laid eyes on walk through the doors of my church. I knew that I wanted to say hello but I was cautious not to overwhelm her. Needless to say, I threw that caution to the wind, texted my friend Fran to help her boy out and talk to Steph and Kelsey! Things went great and we invited them to our small group. A connection was certainly made there but I could still sense hesitation from her to get to know me even more. Fast forward a week and we were hanging out again. This time in Michigan city shopping. Following that, we challenged each other to jump into Lake Michigan. (Remember this was late October) At that point I was fully convinced that that Steph was the woman of my dreams! It was the next weekend where everything changed though. We hadn't talk much during the week and I was panicking thinking that our slight connection was fading away. That's when she texted me on a Friday night wanting to see what I was up to with my friends. Little did she know that I was going to be attending a pretty sweet birthday party for my friend Andrews wife Libby. I may have downplayed that it was mostly a couples event. She agreed to go thankfully, and with a little luck in a bingo game and a TON of help from God, we won a $100 gift card to the lighthouse restaurant! Our first date was planned for us! How awesome right? And it went amazingly well, and we were a couple by the end of the night!
