Do I need a passport for Puerto Rico? Nope! Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory, so U.S. citizens only need a valid government-issued ID (like a driver’s license) to travel. Do I need a passport for the Dominican Republic? Yes! All guests must have a valid passport to enter the Dominican Republic. Make sure it’s valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates. What’s the Dominican Republic e-Ticket and when do I complete it? The e-Ticket is a required online immigration form. You’ll need to complete it within 72 hours before entering the DR (and again before returning). Don’t worry—we’ll send you the link and step-by-step instructions closer to the date! Is it safe to travel? Yes! The areas we’ll be in—San Juan, the ferry, Zona Colonial, and our beach resort in the DR —are safe and welcoming. As always, use common travel sense: stay aware, travel in groups when possible, and avoid carrying lots of cash or valuables. Can I drink the water in the Dominican Republic? We recommend sticking to bottled water for drinking and brushing your teeth. Bottled water will be readily available at hotels and restaurants. What should I pack to stay comfortable and healthy? Sunscreen (trust us, it’s sunny!) Bug spray/mosquito repellent Prescription medications Mini first-aid kit (just in case) Travel insurance (optional, but smart) What happens in case of emergency? Puerto Rico: Dial 911 (U.S. emergency services apply) Dominican Republic: Dial 911 U.S. Embassy in Santo Domingo: +1 (809) 567-7775 We’ll also share a local contact number in case anyone needs assistance during the trip.
