We met on April 16, 2021 when Larry was starting as the Rolling Meadows youth pastor at Harvest Bible Chapel. We both took a notice of each other, but we both quickly focused our attention on the ministry at hand. After many months of working together and spending time with young adult groups, we became good friends. I began to take notice of Larry and respect his heart for the Lord and began praying about Larry beginning in September 2021. Around December, Larry began to have feelings and pray for me. In December, I started to get suspicious of whether or not he liked me, but I was not sure. Early on in the fall, Larry planned a trip to Disney for running the marathon and asked several people to come, including me and my sister, Lindsay. I was looking forward to the trip to see whether or not this was more than friendship. Over the trip, we began to see more and more how we enjoyed each other and how similar our hearts were. Even though no deliberate moves were made, we both sensed something special was happening. On the way back from Disney, both Larry and I were praying about the relationship on the plane. I prayed for God to reveal if this was from Him, and Larry felt the Lord tell him that He was trying to give Larry a good gift. When we got back, Larry kept planning time together with groups of people, and the common denominator was always me and Lindsay. Larry and I kept praying for God’s wisdom and discernment. A few weeks after Disney, I ended up getting in a car accident leading to a concussion. During that time, Larry said he would help with whatever is needed, including a ride. On February 17, I was at home praying about me and Larry and was surrendering it all to the Lord. Larry happened to be preaching on singleness that night, so I assumed he was planning on staying that way. Also, that night I reached out to a neurologist at the church to get an appointment, and they happened to have an opening the next day. I decided to take the appointment, but I needed a ride and decided to take Larry up on his offer. Larry immediately agreed to driving me. At the doctors visit, Larry and I saw how even the most unexpected times felt more fun together. Following the doctor’s visit, we went to coffee and talked ministry and life for 2 hours. When Larry drove me home, I could tell he was nervous about something. As he dropped me off at my apartment, he asked if I would want to go on a date with him, and I said yes as calmly as I possibly could before running up to my apartment and screaming with excitement. We went on our first date February 24. He surprised me with taking me downtown to the Starbucks reserve and a comedy show. We had the best time, and we both were excited to see where God would take us. We quickly started to see our similar hearts for the Lord and how perfectly we seemed to match each other. It was not long before we knew we were going to marry each other.
