SAFEGUARDS WE ARE TAKING REGARDING COVID

Answer

Masks - the venue is following NC mask mandates. No other groups or events will be sharing the venue, only our wedding. Plenty of space to social distance. Our guest list is less than one-quarter of the normal pre-Covid capacity for Carolina Trace’s ballroom Tables will be arranged a minimum of 6 feet apart Tables will be set for 60% of their normal seating capacity. Food safety protocols will be used to minimize cross-contact (i.e. appetizers on small plates instead of large trays, buffet managed by staff rather than self-serve)

Everything on the big day will take place at Carolina Trace Country Club..... 2100 Country Club Drive Sanford, NC 27332

ARE OUR KIDS INVITED? ...... CAN I BRING A DATE?

Answer

If your are invited as a family your invitation will say “and Family". Likewise your invitation will say "and Guest" if invited with a guest. On the RSVP page you will see names of your family or "Guest" displayed next to your name to RSVP for each person in your party separately.

WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE?

Answer

We recommend that you arrive by 3:00 pm before the start of the ceremony, (3:30 pm) to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the party started as scheduled!

IS THERE A SHUTTLE TO AND FROM THE HOTEL TO THE CEREMONY?

Answer

There is not a shuttle available. The Holiday Inn and other hotels are a short 7 mile drive from Carolina Trace Country Club. Sanford is not a metropolitan city so ride share services like Uber are very limited. Please drink responsibly!

WILL THE CEREMONY AND RECEPTION BE INDOORS OR OUTDOORS?

Answer

Weather permitting our ceremony will be outdoors on the lawn overlooking the lake. If whether prevents us from being outdoors the ceremony will move indoors. The reception will be indoors.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE CEREMONY?

Answer

After the ceremony, the bridal party will be taking pictures nearby. Guests will be invited to mingle for a cocktail hour where we will be serving finger foods and beverages, followed by buffet dinner and dancing.

WHAT IS APRIL WEATHER LIKE IN NORTH CAROLINA?

Answer

Average temperatures in April range from low 70s to low 80s during the daytime and falling to low 60s at night. It should be warm and comfortable as the southern Summer humidity should still be several weeks away.

WILL FOOD AND DRINKS BE SERVED AT THE RECEPTION? WHAT KIND OF FOOD?

Answer

Yes, yes yes! Appetizers (1 dairy-free option available and 1 regular) will be served during cocktail hour followed by buffet dinner. All food will be prepared by the Carolina Trace Chef and we will ask any major allergens to be labeled. A number of selections will be dairy-free due to the groom's allergy. The buffet will include a salad, 2 starches, 1 vegetable, 3 animal proteins (Chicken, Beef, Salmon). The cake will be dairy-free but not wheat/gluten-free. There will also be a late-night snack around 9 pm if you didn't get enough to eat.

Yes, we encourage guests to take and post pictures. Please remember to tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #LongSchermRelationship so we can keep track of all of your pictures!
