Where do most 30-somethings go for a respectable relationship? Why Tinder, of course! Back in 2015, Stephanie and Justin both swiped right and made a match!! Once we started talking, we both knew the other was something special. But, as these things sometimes go, we had some lessons to learn before we were ready for each other. So we got wrapped up in our own lives and lost touch for 3 years.
Fast forward to December 2018–Instagram put us back in contact with each other. Not wanting to waste any more time, we met at The Shop in Troy, NY to catch up on 3 years’ worth of living! At the end of dinner, Justin asked “So you wanna go on a real date?” Stephanie stumbled over a “yes” and we agreed to go to the Holdiay Lights in Washington Park in Albany after Christmas. Not able to wait that long, we went out a night earlier than originally planned. What followed was laughs, a sense of wonder at being in each other’s lives again, and the most perfect first kiss. The rest, as they say, is history.
On July 4th, 2020, we decided to go for a hike at the Christman Sanctuary in Delanson. It promised beautiful waterfalls and a hike just challenging enough to give us some exercise. We packed our dog Lincoln into the car and headed out. When we got to the “waterfall” it was dry...we had had a severe lack of rain. However, it was still gorgeous. Justin set up a camera as though he was taking a picture (secretly he had pressed “record.”) He knelt down next to Stephanie, and when he turned around to face her he popped the question. After some hyperventilating and tears, Stephanie said yes to her dream proposal! And now, here we are, ready to make it official!
