FAQs

If you have any other questions not listed on this page, feel free to reach out to the bride and groom!
Question

What time should I arrive at the Ceremony?

Answer

We ask that guests arrive at 5:00. Guests will be taking a funicular to the venue, which will take roughly 15 minutes per group. The ceremony will begin at 5:30.

Question

How do I get to the treehouse?

Answer

After parking in the zoo parking lot, head towards the zoo's main entrance. There will be white yard signs pointing the way to the Brackman Wedding. Pass through the entrance (no zoo entry fee, just mention you are a guest of the Brackman Wedding) and take a slight right and the funicular will be up ahead. There is an annotated map of the zoo on the "Travel" page that illustrates this. There will be zoo employees near the zoo entrance waiting to assist guest with any questions.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Due to a limited venue capacity, most guests will not have a plus one. If you do, there will be an option available to RSVP for a guest when you register yourself. Your invitation envelope will also say your name + guest if you have received a plus one.

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

We have stated every guest (including invited children) on the RSVP page and invitation envelope. Unfortunately, due to a limited capacity we could not invite all children.

Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

The wedding party will be staying at the Hyatt Place Grand Rapids / Downtown. This is about a 15 minute drive to the venue. We also recommend Air BnB or VRBO for affordable options for larger groups.

Question

How do we get around Grand Rapids if we don't have a car?

Answer

Lyft and Uber are great affordable options to get around by car. They are also great options when traveling to the airport and back. Both of these apps can be downloaded to your phone so that you can hail a car on a moment's notice, day or night! Spin and Lime are alternate travel options that include electric scooters and bike rentals!

Question

What do I wear?

Answer

The ceremony will be outside on a covered terrace and the reception will be inside (with air coniditioning). We suggest summer cocktail attire. Examples could include cocktail dresses, dressy jumpsuits, and button up shirts and slacks. There will be no grass, so feel free to wear whatever type of heal you'd like!
