James: The very second day I laid eyes on her, I told my Best Man Cord, "That's what I've been looking for." And just like a true brother would... he said, "I know, otherwise I would've wasted your time." Stephanie: I was talking to my girlfriend Toi, Cord's wife on the phone and a deep voice was in the back ground, I said who is that? She said Cord's friend Mike, I said is he married? She said yes but he has another friend, I think you guys would make a great couple, his name is James. I'm going to talk to Cord about it, send me some pictures and I'll get a picture. James and I had a call later that week. Toi decided to invite us to Houston for a blind date. We saw each other for the first time the weekend of September 15, 2018 at Toi and Cord's for Toi's birthday. I had fun but no connection. Well partially because I had hinged my perspective on what pajamas he chose or didn't chose. The next morning he came to breakfast in Batman pajamas and I was completely turned off. Later he said he did it for shock value and got absolutely no reading from me on my face, that was impressive to him. We continued to talk and we saw each other on one of my business trips to the East coast. He took me for a ride on his motorcycle, made me shrimp and grits (delicious), played his guitar and sang to me. He then came to Kansas City in December for my work Christmas party. This is when he won me. My family loved him and he was great around my friends and children. The morning before he was leaving Kansas City I had a 4am call for work and he was in the guest bedroom. He asked me to come talk to him after the call. I went he said laydown and rest for a minute. I said OK. He cuddled with me and talked, that's were the connection started. When he returned home I felt we had something special. I told him he did something in the cuddling that weekend but it was God, he woke me up to true love. I love you honey. You listened to God and found me. I am so grateful!
