All U.S. citizens must use a valid passport when traveling between Guatemala and the United States. Passports must have at least 6 months validity or risk getting turned away by the airline or by immigration.

La Aurora International Airport (GUA) in Guatemala City. The drive from Guatemala City to Antigua is approximately 1.5hrs depending on traffic.

We highly suggest trying to come in on Thursday to allow you to relax, enjoy Antigua Guatemala and to avoid the traffic of Guatemala City. Please see below for Guatemala City’s weekday and Saturday rush hours. Rush hour AM: From 6 am to 9 am Rush hour PM: From 4 pm to 8 pm IMPORTANT for you returning flight please arrive at GUA airport at least 2 hours before your scheduled flight.

Uber is the fastest, easiest, and most secure way to move around Guatemala City and in Antigua Guatemala. Reserve a ride with Uber to/from Guatemala City International Airport. Request a ride up to 30 days before your flight. Average fare per ride: $40 - $50 USD * Prices may vary depending on hours and traffic.
