In 1878 the Washburn A Mill exploded killing 18 workers. That's 18 more than were killed in the Fukushima-Daiichi disaster or any other civilian nuclear accident in the western world. Come to the Mill City Museum to see the danger of the grain industry first hand. See where workers once labored in the unnatural act of enriching wheat, polluting the river with germ and chaff! Walk through grain silos once so anaerobic, rats would suffocate on the spot. Tread on creaking floor boards, ones too thin to contain the great explosion. Hear the wails of the Norwegian worker's ghosts! In a low timber they warn, "With what hubris did we toil! Wanting a life of plenty we built this mill and blemished natures fair tract. Head our warning. Don't let the demons of Science and Industry fool you like they fooled us! Acquiesce to the whims of energy from the wind and the sun. Don't covet processed grain, be satisfied with the quick perishing heirloom grains and superfoods that nature provided youuuu!"
