Upon entering the Gurdwara, it is customary to cover your head with a scarf or turban. Headscarves are often available near the entrance if you don't have one.
Please remove your shoes when entering the Gurudwara
Maintain a quiet & respectful demeanor throughout the ceremony. If you need to conversate, take it out of the hall
Upon entering the hall, it is customary to bow down in front of the throne & offer a small cash donation ($1 is customary, more is ok too!) There are male & female seating areas. Choose a side accordingly
Find a spot on the carpeted floor. Cross your legs or sit with your legs folded to show respect. If seating is limited, make room for others by sitting close together. Avoid pointing feet or turning your back towards the Gurus. There are bench seats in the back for those who cannot sit on the floor
After the ceremony, lunch is served downstairs. Grab your plate & sit down cross legged to be served. Accept your food with both hands. Wash your hands after eating
