Stephanie was content waiting for God to bring the right guy into her life, when she met German at her first nursing job. While both were working the night shifts, German and Stephanie developed a friendship were they bonded over life experiences and future dreams. Over time, their friendship grew stronger and German began to pursue Stephanie as more than just a friend. German set out to win her over through small acts of kindness and appreciation. Although Stephanie was scared to let anyone in, German was able to show her a different type of love that she never felt before. Overtime, German won her heart and both were able to establish a relationship based on friendship, respect and most of all, Love.

German and Stephanie's first trip together as a couple was to Canada. About 6 years later, German was ready to take their relationship to the next level and decided to propose where it all started. Both German and Stephanie would be traveling back to Canada on a road trip to celebrate their anniversary. On July 5, 2024, German had plan a Wine Tour at Konzelmann State Winery for private wine tasting. Running late, as always, they were both driven to a beautifully decorated gazebo, where Stephanie mentioned "oh wow, look somebody is going to get proposed to." German took Stephanie by the hand and walked her to the middle of the gazebo, where he got down on one knee, asking for her hand in marriage and why he loved her so much. At that point, in complete disbelief Stephanie realized what was happening, laughing and cursing she said "yesssss." Both spent the evening celebrating by Niagara Falls under the fireworks.
