When you’re ready for a break, enjoy a meal or coffee at one of the many restaurants such as Tap42, Taco Rico, Starbucks, and Pisco Nazca to name a few! It’s sunny, bright, and full of life — a lovely spot to explore, shop, and soak up the atmosphere while you’re in town.
Miccosukee Golf & Country Club has proudly hosted numerous LPGA and PGA events, including the Miccosukee Championship. Located in the heart of Miami, this Mark Mahannah-designed course is renowned for having one of the best layouts in the South Florida area.
Zoo Miami is less than 10 minutes from the hotel. If you love animals or just want a fun day out, we highly recommend Zoo Miami, the largest zoo in Florida and the only subtropical zoo in the continental U.S. Its sprawling open-air exhibits recreate natural habitats for over 2,000 animals, from koalas and tigers to elephants, all set in lush, tropical surroundings. You can explore the zoo on foot, hop on a narrated tram tour, ride a safari cycle, or even paddle around the Amazon & Beyond area on pedal boats. Don’t miss the amazing aviaries, including the Wings of Asia, where colorful birds are everywhere.
There is plenty to do at the lively Kendall Indian Hammocks Park with spaces for a wide range of activities. Sports lovers can take advantage of three lighted softball fields, a grassy soccer area, 36 holes of disc golf and a skate park, while nature aficionados can go birdwatching, wander down nature trails or explore the hardwood hammock and surrounding 32-acre nature preserve. If you want to exercise, head to the outdoor fitness zone – it has adjustable tension equipment for all ages and skill levels. There are also two family playgrounds, one for children five years of age and younger and another for children between the ages of five and 12. A major feature of the park is the 14,000-square-foot skate park, which was inspired by iconic outdoor spaces like Love Park in Philadelphia and the Embarcadero in San Francisco. The Kendall skate park has multiple ramps, a vertical wall and grinding rails with obstacles designed for all levels of skaters.
By Brothers Farm is a family-friendly farm and agritourism park that’s full of surprises. You can visit their petting zoo, enjoy the largest private aviary in the U.S., and marvel at stunning birds like macaws, turacos, fantasy pigeons, and even interact with friendly cockatoos. Take a peaceful stroll around Verona Pond, home to colorful koi, electric blue cichlids, and Romeo and Juliet, the resident swans. Step onto the heart-shaped deck for a perfect photo opportunity. For a little adventure, try the tractor pedal farm track, the giant jump pad, or pedal go-karts — fun for kids and adults alike! They do sell food and drinks on-site, but we recommend skipping eating here (from personal experience) and dining at London Square or one of the many other great spots around town.
