On a random Tuesday, Eli surprised Stephanie with an offer of a nice dinner date at the nearby swanky Waldorf Astoria hotel rooftop restaurant in Beverly Hills. As they arrived, Stephanie thought, 'Oh, this looks nice,' unaware that Eli had spent the past couple months researching and working with a local jeweler to design her engagement rings. Ensuring the size, shape, bexel, pavé, setting, and band color, were all perfect. The original plan was for a grand proposal during the April 2024 Eclipse while in Texas or on a later trip to Kenya during a hot air balloon ride. But once the ring was finished, Eli only lasted a couple weeks before deciding he couldn't wait. So as they enjoyed their dinner and chatted about life, Eli pulled an oversized single long stem rose from his folded sweater and gave it to Stephanie. As Stephanie received the rose and barely had time to notice it was a fake flower, Eli had quickly rounded the table and was on one knee nervously taking the rose back and opening it to reveal the ring inside, all while proclaiming his love and asking if she would spend the rest of her life with him. Obviously Stephanie said yes and while still in shock, he put the ring on her finger. Of course the sweet and awkward public display earned an applause and round of drinks from everyone at the restaurant and the rest of the night was all smiles as Eli and Stephanie happily shared the news with their family and friends.
