Don and I had our first date at Kaladi’s coffee shop and the first thing he thought was “she doesn’t like me…I’m gonna give her an out” and all I wanted to do was stare at his eyes but you know first dates and staring to long 👀👀 can be creepy so…I had to talk to keep him around Well three dates later we became facebook official 😂 Several months of dating has passed and Don decided to move to Juneau for a job and a couple months later I decided to join him on a 10week long vacation between CMA training to see if I wanted to commit to this man. I wasn’t so bad 👀 just lots of rain and one month of sunshine out of the year, no biggy. Well Don managed to convince me to move to Juneau with him by bribing me with a brand new espresso machine, kinda worked but the man himself was more important! 😂 (just kidding coffee is life for none morning people!) Well almost six months later we found out that I was pregnant with Ryker. I remember sitting there on the toilet lid panicking, looking and staring at this stick that turned positive and I called Heather. She immediately knew something was up and said “are you pregnant?” And i squeaked out “yes” and the next thing I know is a buttload of squealing coming from the other end of the phone 👀 Then walked in Donald, in all his sleepy zombiness, looks at me and says “babe your in here a long time, you ok?” And then looks at the pregnancy test and says “I need to shower” and I that was it, no reaction of any kind just “I need to shower” So I got up and walked upstairs but half way up I was like “no that can’t be it!!” Marched back down, opened the bathroom door and said “babe, you know what that was right?” He poked his head out and said “yeah” and I was like “ok you know how to read one of those right?” And he said “yeah we are having a baby!” And immediately my nervous energy and worry melted away! One of my most favorite memories was the day that he purposed! It was a busy day, he had a busy day juggling Ryker and trying to get a new vehicle after the jeep breaking down. He comes and picks me up with the new Ridgeline and shows it off. We are driving back to mom and dad’s house in 5 o’clock traffic. Everything and everywhere you looked the roads are congested with vehicles going home or coming to work. The corner of Tudor and old Seward I look over and see a jewelry box and said “oh babe what’s that!” He said look at it and so I did. It was a pair of diamond earring! I put them on and sat there waiting to make a left turn, the cab of the truck was quiet you can hear your own thoughts, even Ryker was quiet! Next thing I hear is Don saying “f*** it I can’t wait any longer!” I’m surprised at his outburst 👀 I look around the traffic we were stuck in, looked at the light, it’s red and turn to Don. I said “Felicia, we are stuck in traffic we aren’t going anywhere. Calm down 😂” and then he brings out this other jewelry box and says “will you marry me?” I was so lost, I started crying and said yes, Ryker was in his car seat in the back giggling while Don was sitting there in almost tears waiting to hear good news and after I said yes he had the biggest smile on his face! Anyways, a year later here we are getting ready to walk head down that aisle, say our vows and become man and wife!
