How We Met

July 12, 2018

Both of us were signed up for a dating app called "Coffee Meets Bagel" in the summer of 2018. After many trials and errors, I came across this picture of Corey holding his beautiful niece Aviana with the biggest smile on his face. I was sold! We started chatting on the app for hours into the night, quickly exchanging numbers. That same week, we had our first date at Trafford's in Bristol, RI where neither of us finished our dinners, too busy talking and excited for where this would lead us. After 4 straight days of dates, we both went home feeling a strong connection, that this was something special.

The Proposal

July 5, 2019

It didn't take us long into our relationship to recognize that we were each other's soulmates. We talked about our future plans to get married and start our lives together. I was anxious for the moment for how and when Corey would eventually propose (Hey! It's what every girl dreams about!). Fast forward to 4th of July week - we had casual plans to attend Corey's family's annual BBQ on the 4th with a plan to head to the beach the day after. When we drove down to Narragansett on that Friday, I didn't think anything of it. We ended up having to stop on 102 to fill Corey's truck tires with air and then we headed to Chair 5 for lunch. We enjoyed lunch alfresco with drinks, killing time in the sunshine. Soon after, we drove over to the rocky spot behind Aunt Carrie's and looked out onto the water. Was this the spot? Nope! We then drove to Narragansett Beach, where we had to park in the paid lot despite it closing in 20 minutes - Corey was a little salty about that! We walked onto the beach, taking off our shoes and walking the length of the beach to the end and back. He pretended he was receiving an important phone call from a friend who may have seen us on the beach. We started to walk back down the beach, stopping in front of the Dunes Club where we held hands and faced the water. Corey started saying something sweet, to which neither of us remembers today. He got down on one knee (in the water) and asked me to be his wife. I said yes! We turned around and there was Corey's friend from church, taking pictures of the whole thing! We called our families and then celebrated that night with a dinner at Trattoria Romana's.
