We met (unplanned) at a local bar in Kingsville, Texas thanks to one of our groomsmen. (Thank you, Noah!) Alejandro was in town for a weekend as I was living here in Kingsville & he was residing in Beumont, Texas. We hit it off as friends until Alejandro kept chasing me & was unable to take a hint via social media. Alejandro was so determined & I finally said “what do I have to lose”? I had just gotten off of a 10 hour shift, sitting in a Whataburger drive-thru ordering food while on the phone with Alejandro. Alejandro asked me to be his girlfriend right then & there as he said he could not wait any longer. Fast forward a few weeks later.. Alejandro moved to South Texas due to job relocation. We moved in together shortly after (only because my car would get towed without a parking permit at his apartment complex). Here we are, years later, getting married to become one.
We had plans to attend a Lynard Skynard/ZZ Top concert in Corpus Christi, Texas. Instead of driving home, we planned to stay the night at the Emerald Beach Hotel. I was feeling sick the night before the concert & Alejandro was so persistent that I go. (It makes total sense now) We arrived at the Emerald Beach Hotel & started getting ready for the concert. It was so hot in our room & I was getting frustrated while doing my hair. As I finished the final touches, Alejandro asked me to make a TikTok with him so we could “play a game”. Little did I know it wasn’t a game. He was getting ready to pop the question! With tears rolling down Alejandro’s face, on one knee, he asked me to marry him in which I said YES! It was a complete surprise as I had no idea he had this all planned out. We then headed to the American Bank Center & enjoyed the night. Best day of my life!!
