Stephanie and Jonathan met through a mutual connection in 2018. Jon had moved to Oregon in 2015 for work, and Stephanie was in the process of relocating to Oregon from Minnesota at that time. She happened to work next to Jon’s former manager who enjoys matchmaking. When Jon reached out to his former manager to wish her happy birthday, she copied Stephanie in her reply and encouraged them to meet. They emailed a few times, and eventually exchanged numbers shortly before Stephanie made the drive to the Pacific Northwest. Once she was in Portland, they exchanged texts and phone calls, then met in person for the first time on November 28, 2018 at the Radio Room. They hit it off with a three hour date and quickly learned they had a lot in common, including having both grown up in Minnesota (within 20 minutes of each other!). They continued dating, fell in love, and the rest is history. Jon and Stephanie have lived in Portland for several years now with their two cats, Remy and Elouise. In their free time, they enjoy hiking around Oregon and Washington, trying new recipes, spending time with family and friends, playing disc golf, and discussing current events.

Jon proposed to Stephanie when they were on a trip to Kauai, Hawaii in February of 2023. The morning of her birthday, he led her to the beach to watch the sunrise. She knew it was going to be a special birthday, but had no idea exactly how special. As the sun was coming up, he got down on one knee and asked her to spend the rest of her life with him. She accepted, and they continued their day with a couples massage, then went to a luau where their engagement was announced. It was a perfect day.
