How We Met

Written By Stephanie from her perspective

We met back in high school in 2009. We both were in the same weightlifting class. Don’t ask me why I took that class, because I don’t know either. I can tell you that I’m happy I did because I met the love of my life. It wasn’t until November that I really noticed him. The thing that really caught my eye was his flippy Justin Bieber hair, and smile that lit up the room. My first initial reaction was to ask him if I can touch his hair, and I did just that. If you’re wondering, he let me! We exchanged numbers and reached out to each other but didn’t connect just yet. If you know us, you know that we love to play video games. One random afternoon after school, a friend invited me into a xbox live party. When I joined, I noticed that someone else was also in the party. Once they started talking I began to realize that the other voice belonged to Dj ! After we found out we both liked video games, we would get home from school and hop on Xbox live. We would make bets like if I killed him five times first, he would hold my hand at school the next day, silly things like that. One thing led to another, bets continued, conversation flowed and we got to know each other very well while playing Xbox and spending time with one another outside of school. The years have gone by and I am so excited to spend the rest of my life with the man of my absolute dreams. Without the spark to the flame that was ignited by our daily conversation on xbox and at school when we were kids, we wouldn't be celebrating our love with our family and friends next year.

The proposal

Written By DJ from his perspective

The day was July 14th, 2018. An ordinary Saturday that would eventually turn into one of the most memorable days of our lives. I remember the weather was perfect that afternoon. Not a cloud in the sky and not much humidity, which in the middle of July in Myrtle Beach is a miracle. So Magic was already in the air when we decided to go out to a fancy restaurant that evening that we have never tried before. 21 Main is a prestigious steakhouse in the North Myrtle Beach area. We both got dressed up and I remember thinking to myself how beautiful Stephanie looked that night. (Not that she doesn't look beautiful all the time.) I couldn't stop telling myself how lucky I am to call her mine. I decided that this was going to be the night that I'm going to ask her to spend the rest of her life with me. The whole dinner I sat across from her and I could feel my heart pounding. The ring stayed in my back pocket the entire night without her knowing. I tried to convince myself to do it in the restaurant but I kept getting nervous. Who knew asking question that you already knew the answer to could be so hard? At this point we had finished eating a delicious dessert and paying the bill. While walking back to the car is where is did it. She was just about to get into the car, she turned around and looked at me and I was getting down onto my knee. The look on her face was priceless. I told her that it would make me the happiest man on earth if she would spend the rest of her life with me and marry me. Her eyes filled with tears and she replied with a yes. The rest is history. I'm so excited that I'm going to be spending the rest of my life with such an amazing women inside and out.
