I found the man that changed my mind about marriage. Jordan and I could not be any more different from each other. He is an introvert and I am an extrovert, we both have walked different seasons in life, and have had different struggles. What has sustained us and has kept us rooted is Christ's love for us. Our mutual love for Him is because He first loved us. The summer before Jordan and I got together, he told me how he was going to get baptized because God changed his life. This has made all the difference in him. Through the years of getting to know Jordan, I have learned and admired so much about him. He is quick to love and even quicker to forgive. God has used Jordan to open my eyes to the things I couldn’t see. The thing that stands out for me in Jordan is that he has the heart of a servant and desires to be like Christ everyday regardless of how many times he falls. Before Jordan, my view on marriage was tainted. I wanted to be an independent woman who did not need a man (wordly thinking on my part). Now, because of the example I found in Jordan, I couldn’t be more honored to have him as my husband. To know that we GET the GIFT of representing Christ and the church (His bride) is an honor and a privilege. It is a treasure that I will treasure throughout this life with the help of God our Savior. I have found the man that goes beyond what I could have ever dreamed of. He is my best friend, the better half. He knows the worst about me and yet, his love remains steadfast. It’s one thing to find a man you love. However, it is another thing to find a man that you can submit to as Christ calls us to do in a marriage. I have found the man that calms the storm in my soul and a man I want to imitate as he submits to Christ. God has been so good and merciful to me!
