Zach's favorite burger joint in the world. His idea of a great wedding location. Zach recommends the double buffalo cheeseburger on a wheat bun and if you're still hungry, the veggie burger for dessert. Also grab a bucket of local Texas beers.
Best Mexican street tacos in town by our books. Cash only, walk across the street to West Alabama Ice House for beers. Steph recommends the tacos al pastor.
Get your tacos, then get your beer. We met up with friends here countless times. This was also a classic halfway point for Houston Critical Mass (15-20 mile bike ride once a month throughout the city with hundreds of bikers).
Beer Garden and hot spot. Grab pizza at Luigi's from the back side of the patio!
Local favorite Tex-Mex spot. There are multiple locations. Steph recommends the beef fajitas and margaritas. The parrillada for 2 actually feeds 4.
Zach used to live 2 minutes walking from this place which was dangerous. Ice cream shop originated from Austin, TX. Steph had a punch card and her favorite is the Mexican Vanilla. Try any of the combos and definitely try to answer the riddle for a free topping.
One of our favorite happy hour places! HH every day: $4 cocktails at 4, then $5 at 5, etc until 7pm!
Fun local brewery with outdoor patio. Steph likes the Vietnamese coffee porter when it's on tap.
Very tasty seasonal dishes. This is where we went on one of our last date nights before moving to New Mexico!
For all of your outlet shopping and last-minute outfit needs ;)
Plenty to do here! Ben Taub hospital (the hospital Steph was at during medical school) is right across the street from the zoo. There is a glass staircase at the hospital that faces the gorillas at the zoo and Steph loved to take gorilla-watching-breaks!
This was our home climbing gym before we moved to New Mexico! It's a bit of a hike up north, but a fun day activity to climb where we used to!
Another half day trip to an iconic Houston spot. Steph took a field trip down here during her Space Medicine course and got to walk inside Space Command!
Tons of museums in this area! Check out the Museum of Fine Arts, Children's museum for the kiddos, or the Natural Science Museum!
