How We Met

March 30, 2018

Funny how the people we know earlier in life end up introducing you to the love our your life. Little did Tim and Stephanie know that a common friend would be the one to set them up! Stephanie: So I've known Jason since high school and had reconnected with him about 6 years ago. One day, funny enough I was on another date, I got a text from Mindy, Jason's wife. She blew up my phone with texts saying I had to meet this friend of theirs, and sent several pictures of him, as if she needed to sell him to me. Included with all of this was his number. So a couple of days late, I decided to be bold and send Tim a text and the rest is history. We texted every day for 2 weeks, and had our first date on March 30, 2018. Going to an escape room was really fun, but all I wanted to do was be right him the whole night. And now, I get all my nights for always with him. Tim: After Stephanie had texted me, all I could think about was meeting her in real life. I remember sitting at Jason's table, incredibly nervous, waiting for her to arrive so we could go to the Escape Room on our first date. I heard her voice as she walked in, and tensed up. I finally saw her and my heart melted. I knew I wanted to be as close to her as possible the entire night. I went home that night the happiest I've ever been. I knew I had met the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.

Proposal

May 17, 2019

There was no doubt in my mind that I wanted to propose to Stephanie. The question was...how. I took my best man and best friend, Jason, with me to go pick out a ring. We found the right one and I immediately stored the ring in my sock drawer. I sat on that ring for what seemed like the longest time but the weekend finally came. We decided to take a weekend out of town, a camping and floating trip, and I knew it was time. Jason's wife, Mindy, said Stephanie had a feeling about the proposal but figured it wouldn't happen just yet. We arrived at the park (with the ring safely stored under the driver's seat), but as we were pulling into the camp site, I decided to take a route that wasn't ideal. The campsite was on a sandy beach, and when I tried turning around, I got my car stuck in sand. We were about 200 feet from the campsite, so we had to walk down to it. Once we got to the site, Stephanie realized it had been decorated with proposal decorations. Embarrassingly, I had left the ring under the car seat, in the car, that was stuck 200 feet away! Instead, as she was trying to figure out what was going on, I got down on one knee and, as she turned around to me, her jaw dropped. I asked her to marry me, and you guessed it, she said "Yes". But, being so nervous and anxious, I had to tell her I forgot the ring in the car!! We both laughed, and after, Jason had helped me pull my car out of the sand. I retrieved the ring and re-proposed. What happened next were some of the happiest moments of my life, and I will never forget them.
