Walk along the three beaches - Long Sands, Shorts Sands, and Harbor Beach. Hike Mount Agamenticus to see the ocean from above the tree line. Walk over the Wiggly Bridge and into the nature park. Get lunch at the original Stonewall Kitchen. Visit the Kittery Shopping Outlets. Of course, walk through Sohier Park and see Nubble Lighthouse!
About 60 miles south of York Beach. We like to park in Revere, MA and take the train in for the day. See a Red Sox game, visit the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, walk Acorn St and Beacon Hill, walk the Freedom Trail, see the Boston Common and Public Gardens, and eat at Quincy Market. We enjoy walking around the Back Bay, Seaport, China town, and Downtown!
About 45 miles north of York Beach. Lots of places to get great food and craft drinks. We often go for dinner a few nights and walk around the Old Port. Commercial St Pub is owned by a Nebraskan and shows lots of Husker memorabilia on the walls. See Portland Head Light, another of the most famous lighthouses in the world, see a Portland Sea Dogs baseball game overlooking the bay, and walk through the Eastern Promenade for great views!
About 10 miles north of York Beach. Ogunquit was voted the 7th best beach in the USA! We really enjoy walking the Marginal way, a path lined with beautiful homes and overlooking the water. Walk through the quaint downtown, visit some of the local stores, and eat at Nikanos (a Greek favorite of ours!).
About 10 miles south of York Beach. Portsmouth downtown are all brick lined streets and great for walking or having lunch. Lots of local shops and dining. See the North Church, where George Washington once worshipped and have lunch of dinner at Surf (where we spent one of our first New Years' Eve dinners!).
