Stephanie and Olivia both grew up in Fullerton, but their paths didn’t officially cross until years later—despite once being at the same party without realizing it. At the time they met, Olivia was working at Two Saucy Broads in Downtown Fullerton. The shop was just two blocks from Steph’s apartment, and she—juggling multiple jobs—would often swing by for a quick bite to go, always ordering the same thing: garlic knots. Stephanie, quiet and a little shy, usually placed her order online and kept things low-key. But Olivia definitely noticed her. There was something about the way she’d slip in with a soft smile, always in a rush but still kind. The team started calling her “garlic knot girl,” and Olivia couldn’t help but be curious. Then one day, Olivia came across Steph’s Tinder profile—and immediately assumed it had to be fake. “There’s no way garlic knot girl is actually on Tinder,” Olivia thought. But then Olivia read her bio, which talked about being a proud dog mom, and it instantly felt real, sweet, and completely her—and that’s when Olivia swiped right. The very same day they both swiped right, they made plans for their first date, which was on August 5th 2019. Once they met up, Olivia finally got to know the person behind the garlic knots—and it turned out Steph wasn’t just sweet, she was hilarious, thoughtful, and as much of a geek as Olivia. They bonded over their shared love of video games, Pokémon, and all the quirky things that made them both smile. From there, everything clicked. Garlic knots turned into long talks, inside jokes, and a growing connection—and the rest, as they say, is history.
