Andares Shopping Mall
Upscale, open-air mall with lots of shopping and restaurant options. We recommend the following restaurants: Campomar Andares, Mochomos Guadalajara, & Cuerno Andares.

A must if you like seafood.
Tacos Don Miguelón
For authentic Mexican tacos.
Tlaquepaque
Colorful town in Guadalajara known for its artsy vibe and beautiful colonial streets. It’s packed with galleries, handmade crafts, mariachi music, and amazing food—perfect for a fun day of exploring and shopping.
Tequila
Vibrant little town outside of Guadalajara, known as the home of the world-famous drink (tequila!). It's surrounded by scenic blue agave fields and packed with cool distilleries, history, and local charm. We recommend a tour at the Jose Cuervo Distillery. There are a few options to get to Tequila: uber, rent a car and drive, take a bus tour, or take the "Tequila Express" train. (~1 hour drive from Guadalajara)
Lake Chapala
Mexico's largest freshwater lake known for its mild climate, scenic views, and laid-back lakeside towns like Ajijic. (~1 hour drive from Guadalajara)
Puerto Vallarta
If you plan on spending extra time in Mexico, we highly recommend visiting the beach in Puerto Vallarta. This laid-back coastal city blends beautiful beaches, charming old-town streets, and a lively food and arts scene, making it a perfect mix of relaxation and local culture. There are a few options to get to Puerto Vallarta: rent a car and drive, fly, or take a bus (there are coach buses that run every ~30 min from Guadalajara). (~3 hour drive from Guadalajara, ~1 hour flight from Guadalajara)
Mexico City
If you plan on spending extra time in Mexico, we highly recommend visiting Mexico City. As the country’s capital and largest city, it’s a vibrant, high-energy destination where ancient history, colorful neighborhoods, and an incredible food scene all come together. (~5 hour drive from Guadalajara, ~1.5 hour flight from Guadalajara)
