Online dating. That's were it all began. We met on Christian Mingle, and yes, he messaged me first. After talking for a little while we decided to meet in person. We decided on meeting for dinner at Salt and Smoke. And of course I was late, but only by five minutes... I walked inside the busy restaurant and walked up to Dan. After introducing myself and giving that awkward side hug he lied to me and said he was not Dan (should have been a red flag...). After I began having a slight freak out moment in my head he actually introduced him self. We then sat down to dinner and began talking. I remember as he was telling me about his job and family I thought this was a man I could see spending forever with. And I was right! The next year together was incredible and now here we are getting married!

It was our 1 year anniversary. Dan had a surprise weekend planned and I had no idea what we were doing. I had a slight suspicion that a proposal could be coming but did not want to get my hopes up. Before the weekend plans began, Dan received a call saying due to weather his plans weren't able to proceed as planned. Dan then quickly adjusted plans and the weekend was back on schedule. We had a nice dinner Friday. Then Saturday he made breakfast for me and told me which outfit I should wear for the day. Soon I was ready and we were out the door for our adventure. Our first stop was to Castlewood State Park. Somewhere I had been wanting to go to for quite some time. We picked a trail and we were off. The trees were all beautiful fall colors and the temperature was perfect. Nearing the end of our trail I paused to take a picture to remember the moment. After taking the picture Dan told me we were supposed to be doing a hot air ballon tour but the weather was not cooperating. As I was looking at the hot air balloon information he was getting down on one knee. I turned around and there he was showing me a beautiful diamond ring. I started getting teary eyed and don't remember much of what he said. But I said yes!
