This is a story about how two people from two different regions of California (NorCal vs SoCal) fall in love. On May 24, 2019, Chris, Bay Area native, made a spontaneous decision to go on a friend’s “May Day” trip to Belmont Park Mission Beach, San Diego, CA that would cause mayhem in his life, but of course for the better. After all, what’s life when there isn’t any craziness in it? Now we are not talking about how wild Chris and his group of friends can get with all their shenanigans, but we are talking about the moment Chris found himself in a bit of a predicament when a certain someone entered the Airbnb. Chris being the life of the party with his drinking and mingling found himself in a daze once Steph entered the Airbnb. Chris had to know her name, her sign, if he could creep up from behind and ask her what her interests are. Yes, he was thinking like Biggie. So, he resorted to getting the 411 through one of his best buddies, Emerson, who attended San Jose State University and was part of the Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity with Steph. Emerson responded, “She coo.” And that was Chris’ green light to make a lasting impression on Steph. Steph, a San Diego native, joined this shindig so she can catch up with college friends, but little did she know, she would be lured into hilarious jokes and goofy gestures. As the night progressed, Chris was making every effort known to Steph that she was the apple of his eye. From pretending to “loose” his phone so that Steph could call it aka get her number to asking how he should advertise himself on dating apps aka to know what her type is to asking if he was interrupting an exclusive party when Steph was chatting with friends to sitting too close for comfort to Steph on a couch until she almost fell off. If that doesn’t demonstrate how much he was trying to show that he liked her, then what is? Steph was not ready at all for what Chris had to offer. But she had an epiphany that if she didn’t keep up, he would move-on and so she made the realization, he’s the one. Steph was tired of being with little immature boys who didn’t know what they wanted in life and found a suave, driven, genuine, entertaining, devoted, compassionate and loyal man in Chris. Well, you may be wondering how they survived a long-distance relationship? Daily phone and video calls were made, monthly flights and road trips were taken, quick weekend trips occurred, tears were shed each time visits ended, and the positive thoughts that one day they would be closer to one another was set as a constant reminder. Fast forward through the long-distance relationship hurdle to currently living with each other in San Jose, CA. Steph and Chris are ready to say I do. And what better way than to share this moment with all of you! Cheers to creating lasting memories and begin a lifetime of happiness together starting at the Melia resort in Bali, Indonesia! Love always, Steph and Chris
Chris popped the question to Steph on Medano Beach in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
