Make sure to get there early! This trail can get crowded but it is WORTH IT! Get your $25 one day pass for RMNP at https://www.nps.gov/romo/planyourvisit/fees.htm After taking in the views of three pristine alpine lakes, window shop your way through Estes Park. Make sure to stop and grab a coffee at Inkwell & Brew! Break up the drive home and stop in at Avery Brewing in Boulder.
Hiked too much and need to give your legs a break? Before you get your zen on, sit down for some breakfast and a coffee at our favorite place- The Cookery in Platte Park. *Chicken and waffles and the Breakfast Burrito are at the top of our lists* Make your way to Denver Botanic Gardens where you can see collections of flowers and plants on 24 acres in the Denver Metro area. Finish the day by hanging in Cheesman Park or taking a stroll around Washington Park where there are two lakes, two formal flower gardens, tree-lined paths and seemingly endless expanses of green grass. The large houses that surround the park are great to look at too!
Keep an eye on the concert schedule listed above- any Red Rocks concert is not to be missed!!! In the afternoon, grab a bite at the Denver Central Market, a gourmet food hall and grocery. Don't miss the street art on Larimer between 25th and 27th AND the alley behind Denver Central Market. Make sure to stop into one of the many breweries in RiNo (River North District)- some of our favorites are Our Mutual Friend Brewery, Ratio Beerworks, and Black Shirt Brewing Co, Hop over to Avanti, a shipping container turned food hall, for a pre-game beverage and check out the sunset from the rooftop bar!
The hour long drive to Colorado Springs is worth these red rock views! While you're in the Springs, make sure to stop in to Ivywild School and get a latte from the Principal's Office. If you are looking for an EXTREME challenge, hike 2,744 stairs up the Incline in Manitou Springs. One of the hardest hikes we have done to date- only .88 miles long, but more than 2,000 feet in elevation. Don't forget to bring plenty of water and the 3 mile hike back down. ROUGH!
