When the couple was initially looking at dates, they considered a later day in October. It was then that father-of-the-bride, Doug, pointed out that the 4th would be easy to remember since it was "10-4 good buddy!" The rest is history, and the couple has no excuse for forgetting their anniversary in the future.

In her first try at online dating Stephany downloaded an app and had spent weeks flipping through pictures and messaging potential dates, hoping they weren't murderers. It really did feel like a game, and she would even pass her phone off to friends so they could "play" and swipe left or right on these suitors. While height didn't really mean much to Stephany, her coworker, Kelly, would swipe almost exclusively on tall guys. While Kelly was not the one to swipe on him, the bride definitely won this game with 6'3" tall Bert! When they had mutually connected, Bert reached out and mentioned how he was excited to find another democrat in our area (#same). They spent hours talking through text- with sporadic breaks where Bert had fallen asleep with the cats on his lap. When they finally decided to meet, they arranged to go to Cheddars (#RIP). Forever worrying about everything, Stephany put the taser she had purchased in her bag and drove to Ontario. One worry she didn't need to have was finding him at the restaurant. As soon as she pulled into the parking lot she saw the tall guy who looked like he had just come from Hot Topic, with a band shirt, cargo shorts, and tall socks over his knees. Luckily, Stephany didn't need to use the taser that night (or ever on Bert... so far). While at first she was simply grateful she had found someone who didn't plan to murder her, she soon realized she had found "her person" for life.
