"Fencing, Fighting, Torture, Revenge... Giants, Monsters, Chases, Escapes... True Love, Miracles!" Like many modern couples, we met online. Steph responded to Josh's simple "Hi! :)" after viewing his profile page and deciding he was too good to pass up. Our first date was at a coffee shop and lasted for three hours! The conversation flowed readily and the chemistry was apparent. After a few hikes and meals together we knew we were on to something good.
Steph grew up in the Chicago area and attended Augustana College, where she graduated with a degree in Biology. Following her dream to become a veterinarian she moved to Manhattan, KS to complete her degree at Kansas State University. Unsure of whether she would enter general practice or pursue a specialty career in veterinary dentistry, she applied for an internship and was offered a position at the Veterinary Specialty Center of Tucson. After completing her internship Steph looked for jobs in both Chicago and Tucson, but she decided to stay in Tucson to work at Rolling Hills Pet Clinic. In 2015 she moved to Sunrise Pet Clinic and has been happily employed ever since! Josh grew up in Arizona before moving to Oregon but came down to visit nearly every summer. He returned after high school to study Astronomy. Working in the restaurant industry through college, he graduated with a degree in Physics but decided to keep going with what he knew. In 2005 he began a job as a bartender for Primo Restaurant and that's where his passion for restaurants came alive. After moving up to Supervisor a year later and training under a handful of people, things really clicked when Ian Broome came over to help manage. As fate would have it he became a much-needed mentor and together the two led the restaurant to new heights. Josh and Steph's first dinner date was at Primo, on a night when Chef Melissa Kelly was in town from Maine. Steph was a little star struck and the relationship blossomed into something greater. In 2015 the Primo job came to an end but his love and respect for the restaurant remained. Today Josh works for Raytheon but is fortunate enough to bartend on Friday nights with his friends at Elliott's on Congress.
