how we met

#thankyoucarthageathletictraining

We first met at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin — two athletic training students passionate about sports medicine and helping athletes get back in the game. What started as classmates and friends grew into a lasting friendship throughout our college years. After graduation, life took us in different directions for a while. We each chased our own paths, building careers and experiences. But as fate would have it, our story wasn’t finished yet. Fast forward to Halloween night — where sparks quite literally flew between a Bratz doll and a lumberjack. That night reignited something special, and before long, Andrew asked Taylor out on an official date. Their first date was at a cozy little spot called Port and Park, where the evening turned unexpectedly magical. The restaurant was open and airy, a solo artist serenaded the room — and, in a funny twist, kept checking in between songs for their requests, becoming their unintentional third wheel for the night. But even with the music, the laughs, and the food, it was clear something real was happening — they hit it off immediately. From there, life seemed to sync perfectly. Both were diving into new, busy careers — often crossing paths in the sports medicine world — leading many to assume they’d met through work. Andrew was living with a few buddies, and Taylor with her sister and a friend, until they decided it was time for the next step: moving in together. They found the perfect place right across the street from what would become their favorite hangout — Off Color Brewery, fondly known as The Mouse Trap. Then, on a steamy August Saturday, right behind that very same brewery that had become such a part of their story, Andrew got down on one knee and asked Taylor to marry him. Her answer was an enthusiastic “hell yes!” And that’s where the next chapter began — the wedding planning, the laughter, and the excitement for a lifetime together.
