In 2019, I worked with Janet at Belleview Middle School. One day as we were talking, Janet asked me how old I was and if I was seeing anyone. She shared all the wonderful things about her single son, Spencer, and as I listened, he sounded just like my type of man. However, we really didn't speak about any of this again. A few months after our previous conversation, Janet asked me if I would be interested in renting a house that she was going to purchase and renovate. At that time, I was commuting to work and said yes to renting in order to make the commute shorter. On moving day, I walked into my new home and Janet introduced me to her husband, Mike, and her son Spencer. After the initial introduction, Spencer reached out to offer assistance with moving. Spencer came over to help me with moving, and we ended up talking for almost 4 hours straight. Once we began chatting, we started to realize we had a lot of things in common. After I got settled in, we decided to go on a date and have been inseparable ever since. I am grateful for the conversation that started it all and led me to Spencer. And we cannot wait to start our life together.
Our favorite activity on the weekends is to grab breakfast at a local spot. Therefore, on the morning of our engagement we had breakfast at our favorite café. Unbeknownst to me (Stephanie), I began to plan out errands that needed to be run. Spencer casually mentioned running over to 312, also known as the property we plan to build our future home. On the drive over, we began discussing different aspects of our future home. What we want it to look like or how we should set up different aspects of the home. When we arrived Spencer pulled up the layout of the home we like. He asked me stand on our soon to be front lawn and imagine which side of the house we wanted our driveway to be on. As I stood there imagining our future, Spencer knelt down on one knee behind me, and there where we are planning to build our home he asked me to build a life with him. And of course I said YES!
