We met like most modern-day couples do these days: online! Little did we know we would have so many mutual friends and experiences. Josué first messaged Rachel on April 17th, and we discovered that both of our families are from El Salvador, we had both been a part of Reality Churches, and we both love coffee and plants. Later on, we realized that in 2012, Josué had stepped foot in Rachel's San Francisco apartment, but we didn't cross paths that night. It wasn't time for us yet. Fast forward to 2018, after some messaging, texting, and lots of phone calls, we had our first date at the Anaheim Packing District, and now here we are today.
After work, Josué and Rachel go for a walk at the marina, as they frequently do. Josué suggests they go sit on a bench, where he starts saying really nice things. Rachel doesn’t think anything of it—she is fully expecting that he will be proposing that upcoming Saturday (which turns out, had been the original plan). It isn't until Josué starts to reach into his pocket and swivel down to his knee that Rachel gets suspicious. He asked her to marry him, and amidst her shock, she said yes! They turned around and Rachel discovered that Bryce had been there all along, taking photos of them, while Andi and Sam had set up a lovely area for them to celebrate with flowers and champagne. It was perfect. Feel free to ask them for the long version (and they do mean long)...
