Traveling to Ithaca, Greece

OPTION 1: FLY TO GREECE – FLY TO KEFALONIA – FERRY TO ITHACA Logan, JFK, and Newark offer direct flights to Athens. Flight duration: ~9.5-10.5 hours. Since Ithaca does not have an airport, the closest airport is on Kefalonia (EFL), an island just west of Ithaca. Once you land in Athens you will have to take a connecting flight there. Flights from Athens to Kefalonia operate daily. Duration: ~1 hour. Airlines: Aegean Airlines (Olympic Air) and Sky Express From the airport in Kefalonia, take a taxi to the port of Sami (~40 minute drive), then take a ferry to Pisaetos, Ithaca. Ferry duration: ~45 minutes. Ferry operators include: Levante Ferries - https://www.levanteferries.com/en/ Ionian Pelagos - https://ionionpelagos.com/en We highly recommend checking ferry schedules in advance and booking tickets. OPTION 2: FLY TO GREECE – DRIVE TO PATRA - FERRY TO ITHACA Logan, JFK, and Newark offer direct flights to Athens. Flight duration: ~9.5-10.5 hours. Bus or Rental Car + Ferry from Athens to Patras to Ithaca If you are renting a car you can drive or take a KTEL bus (from Athens’ Kifisos Bus Station) to the port of Patras (~2.5 hours drive). From Patras, take a ferry to Pisaetos, Ithaca.
