Stella and Danny were "hinged" after meeting via a dating app in the summer of 2021. Stella had just moved back to NYC following a year of remote work in Korea, and Danny finally returned home for his gastroenterology fellowship. Their first date didn't necessarily go according to plan as Danny showed up late drenched in sweat because the train had broken down. He had also underdressed per Stella's standards as a designer (and non-medical trainee). Despite these shortcomings, they quickly bonded over their shared faith and love for family/friends and travel. The rest was history.

Stella loves visiting her family in Korea and taking walks with them around their neighborhood in Pangyo. Danny joined her in Korea on vacation and met her family for the first time. Before one of their morning walks, he grabbed a guitar last-minute and told her to not think too much about it. After finding a secluded area outside, he sang her a song that he had written and proposed - to which she said yes!
