Mar Monte Hotel - The Unbound Collection by Hyatt

We have a room block here for our out of town guests. There is a two night minimum and can be Thursday/Friday or Friday/Saturday. A reminder to guests our ceremony is Friday at 12:30pm, so we recommend coming up Thursday night! All rooms blocked are the 1 King Deluxe options, however, you are able to upgrade at a discounted price. You are also able to extend your stay as well as use Hyatt rewards to book accommodations. If you're traveling with family or a group of friends, booking an Airbnb or Vrbo rental can be a fantastic option. Santa Barbara offers a wide range of charming homes, beachside cottages, and hillside retreats that provide extra space, privacy, and the comforts of home. Whether you're looking for a cozy bungalow near downtown (walkable to most things) or a spacious house with a backyard and kitchen for group meals (may need a rental car), there's something for every style and budget. We recommend booking early, as Santa Barbara is a popular destination and homes tend to fill up quickly, especially on weekends. If you have questions about neighborhoods or need help narrowing down options, feel free to reach out!

Train

LA (Union Station) to Santa Barbara (SBA)

Taking the train from Los Angeles to Santa Barbara is a scenic and relaxing way to travel—with stunning coastal views along the way. Guests departing from LAX will need to take an Uber to Union Station in downtown LA (depending on traffic, the ride can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour). From there, Amtrak offers direct service to Santa Barbara, with one-way tickets typically ranging from $30 to $47. The journey takes about 2 hours and 45 minutes. You'll arrive at the Santa Barbara (SBA) station, which is centrally located and within walking distance of many hotels.

There is an airport located in Santa Barbara that is surprisingly not that expensive to fly into and is so easy to navigate. The airport is located about 10 miles from downtown Santa Barbara, which is where our wedding celebration will be!

Flight

LAX - Los Angeles Airport

LA has multiple airports, but LAX is the largest and usually the cheapest to fly in and out of. We suggest guests fly into LAX and either rent a car or take the AmTrak Surfliner train from LA (Union Station) to Satna Barbara (SBA Station).

Rental Car

Whether or not guests need a car in Santa Barbara really depends on their plans. The city itself is highly walkable, with charming neighborhoods, restaurants, and shops all within easy reach—and rideshares like Uber are readily available if needed. That said, if you're planning to explore the coastline, stay at an Airbnb in the mountains, or venture out for wine tasting in the hills, renting a car is definitely recommended to make the most of your time.
